  • The tourism industry is a system because:

    1. it consists of several interrelated parts working together (interdependency)
    2. the open system nature of tourism, it is dynamic and constantly changing

    4. a systems approach displays better the great level of competitiveness present in tourism
    5. a system acknowledges a level of friction and disharmony in tourism
    6. the systems approach is used because each part of the system has a need for responsiveness
